Hey everyone, things are super busy right now with Reality Shoot , and I haven't had time to really keep you guys up to date lately, so I wanted to take a sec and fill you all in on what's been going on.

With many projects being worked on at the same time I have really enjoyed the help of Brett Sykes who has been acting as my production coordinator, and really keeping me sane with all my emails, my calendars, photo-shoots, the never ending list of tasks, insane amounts of post production, and everything else not suited for ADHD:) I also want to thank my awesome assistants and the super talented hair/makeup girls, that keep things flowing smoothly in the background on set.

My latest production, (featured here), is that of Nate. The production was a really great challenge for my crew, but it is really coming together. Even though it's nowhere near finished yet, I must say, I am extremely happy with how the rough is turning out, and that it is so close to the original sketch too. Thanks again to the super talented Mike Loveland who does all my sketches - he's awesome!

This was a really interesting, and very fun shoot for me. I tried a lot of things I had never done before and it was great to problem solve with my fantastic crew and see it come together. The garage we ended up shooting in here in town was perfect for the shot, and all the guys there were incredibly helpful. Also, I think we single-handedly kept Wendy's in business that night. Who knew there was such a thing as TOO many Jr. Bacon Cheese Burgers, and Frostys, for real?

Anyway, it will be some time before the final is done, so here is the sketch and the rough, and some screen shots of the behind the scenes video, which also will be out very soon! Stay tuned...

I love your photographic-illustrative style. This is really cool. it has a nostalgic appeal even though it is very up to date. I especially enjoy how you have the lens flares all over the place and they do not distract from the hero image of Nate. I imagine he is some sort of motorhead, but unlike any motorhead that stereotypes dictate. Very cool! I can notwait to see the finished product.

Hi Bryan

Must admit love your work, was in camera club a few weeks ago and one of the members brought in some old magazines Digitalphotographer which I found your article totally inspired me. Had a look your web site you’ve some great photo’s . I would like to do a shot of the camera club agm. The average age of the members is about 85 I am one of the youngest at 40 it quite funny it took them 3 hours discussing the size of the labels and what font to use frustrating but funny. The labels were for our annual photo exhibition. You have got some great tutorials on your blog keep them coming hope you don’t mind me asking what method you use for cutting out your people. Any other tips would be much appreciated. No problem if you haven’t got time to reply I understand

Steve, I am so glad you like the work, and it is always nice hear that people like the tutorials as they are very time consuming. As for how I cut my objects out...I use many methods, depending on what the situation, but I like the extraction tool the best. The big problem with that is it only works in 8 bit. Thanks again!
