REAL New York City

| New York really is an amazing place, and what makes it so amazing is its history, the incredible architecture, delicious food, rich culture and the people who live there... that is what I love about NYC. | |

This past trip to New York was yet another wonderful experience for me. It was great to have my first assistant Shad with me too, as we were both able to venture out with our nicer cameras and have some fun with them. I usually only take my Canon TX1 pocket camera, (because it is so small and lightweight), but I bit the bullet this time and took my 1Ds Mark 2 out on the town for the first time in the big city. Yes, it was VERY heavy to carry around, but it was WELL worth it to see New York through such a beautiful lens, and have images recorded on such an incredible sensor. So these are just a few of the photos I took before Shad and I headed out to Coney Island one evening near Battery Park, by the water front.
I love taking photos in New York that make people think and wonder where they were taken, instead of taking pictures of places and things we "expect" with a trip to the Big Apple. In fact one of these shots is taken right in front of the Statue of Liberty, but it was my goal to capture the very thing that makes New York New York.... its people.

Those are awesome pictures. I too am also in awe of New York. Some of the best photographs ever been taken are candids that capture who people really are. This is what you do in most everything that you shoot. That is why you are seriously one thee most talented photographers that is out there.
