I recently picked up an interesting new sponsor by the name of Cradlepoint. Read on to see how this portable hot-spot has changed my entire work flow!

| Tags: Review The other day I was at the AT&T store with some questions about my plan, and the salesman happened to ask what I do. As I began telling him, I pulled up my blog on my iPhone, and he cut me off and shouted, "wait, do that again". I asked him what he meant, and he told me to reload my blog on my iPhone. Again, I loaded my blog and the salesman grabbed my iPhone and loaded another website. "WOW", he said, "your phone's internet is so fast". First I joked and said it was a 3G loaner that I was beta testing for Apple, and he got very quiet... as if I shouldn't joke about stuff like that. Then, as I saw the poor sole was now truly disturbed, I pulled my shiny new PHS300 out of my coat pocket.

Cradlepoint is a company that specializes in portable network/wireless options for professionals. These portable beauties are meant to work with a 3G air-card, and once you put your air-card into the PHS300 you BECOME a "walking hot-spot". It is the coolest thing ever! A short while back they shipped me a package with some of their most current portable products to use, and provide feedback on. They also used some of my written quotes on their site, and one ended up in the national press photographer magazine.

For the sake of time I will just be listing a few of the options the PHS300:

-3G speeds on the iPhone
-fast file transfers, and email attatchment downloads, between assistants via iPhone, for location/prop/wardrobe scouting... ANYWHERE
-fast uploading of photo's to server while shooting on location
-creating wireless network between crew on a shoot
-creating wireless network at the studio or office, with just an air-card
-fast, continuous downloading while on the road

Is the monthly service through them, or do you buy the monthly 3g service through someone like Sprint or Verizon?

Did it come with a car charger?

No, the internet service is not provided by Cradlepoint. They sell hardware that will need the companionship of some sort of "air-card" , like those from Sprint or AT&T etc . They do not ship the car adapter with the unit, but one is available on their site. Enjoy!
